1. Website Usage
By using our site, www.theguide-uk.com  (“our site”) or www.socialise-UK.com, whether as a guest or a registered member you indicate that you accept these terms of use and agree to abide by them.
 
2. Information about us
The Guide to Britain is a site operated by a trading division of Petton Holdings (“we”), of Church Farm, Petton, Shropshire SY4 5TG.  If you have any concerns about material which appears on our site, please email us at admin@theguide-uk.com
 
3. Accessing our site
Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis to all persons who agree to abide by these terms and conditions.  We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site.  By using our site, you warrant that you are (a) legally capable of entering into binding contracts, (b) are resident in the UK or lawfully accessing our site under the laws of your country of residence. We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable.  From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of our site to users who have registered with us (“members”).  If you choose, or are provided with a user identification code, password or other security information, you must treat such information as confidential and may not disclose it to any third party.  We have the right to disable any user identification code or membership access, if in our opinion you have failed to comply with any of these terms of use.
 
4. Links from our site
Where our site links to other sites, resources, adverts or services provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only.  An example of this are advertisements on our site from our sponsors.  You agree to abide by the terms and conditions applicable to those sites, resources, adverts or services and we accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.  If you provide any personal data to sites, resources, adverts or services provided by third parties, you acknowledge that such third party will process and control such data.

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  We are the data controller for our site for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998.   The data we may collect and process about you includes information that you voluntarily provide to us by filling in forms on our site, making transactions through our site or correspondence you enter into with us (“your data”).  Your data also includes statistical information about your computer or internet access device that may by submitted to us by your internet browser, including by means of a ‘cookie’ stored in your browser or geo-location data sent by your internet access device or internet service provider.  You may opt out of sharing certain statistical information with us by configuring your browser not to share cookies with our site and by deleting cookies placed by our site on your browser.  You may opt out of sharing geo-location data with us by configuring your internet access device and requesting that your internet service provider does not transmit such data to our site. 6. Content on our site generated by you
Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to upload material, including images to our site, or to make contact with other users of the site (“profile information”), you warrant that such information is your own, not subject to any third party rights and that it complies with acceptable content standards and all applicable laws.  We have the right to remove or modify any material or posting you make on our site, if in our opinion and judgment such material does not comply with your obligations or to edit or alter such material to optimise it for display on our site .  You acknowledge that by supplying profile information, that this will be shared with other users of the site.  By selecting an option “you may list me in Featured Members using my username”, you permit us to display profile information prominently on our site in a way that will be accessible by the general public.
 
7. Transactions concluded through our site
Contracts for the supply of goods and services or information formed through our site, including where you wish to become a sponsor of our site or as a result of a visit to our site are governed by separate terms and conditions of supply that will be notified to you separately.  You warrant that the payments made by you are with a credit or debit card that you are authorised to use, and you shall indemnify us for any fraudulent or erroneous transactions that you make.
 
8. Social Network Sharing
Our members and site visitors have the option to share information from our website which they like with their friends on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. We will never disclose any personal details supplied by members that are not publicly displayed on the member's profile.
 
9. Changes to our Terms and Conditions / General
We may revise these terms of use at any time by amending this page.  English law applies to the contractual and non-contractual rights arising in connection with these terms and conditions and the English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim or proceedings arising from a visit to our site.
